What is your city/town known for? Is it different from Sterling?

Izmir has so many natural places. You can see everything in Izmir. It is so different from Sterling because Izmir is such a big city and there are so many huge buildings.

Did you always know you wanted to study in the U.S.?

Actually I decided last year.

What were you excited or nervous about before you left?

I was excited for my new team, season, and new life. I was nervous about my English level.

Have you had a memorable moment at Northeastern?

I played my first game at NJC and it was perfect. We were together with my teammates and their parents.

What advice would you give another student thinking of studying in the U.S.?

Everybody is very helpful here, they should come and see! If they are scared about something they shouldn't because I was scared too but I'm so happy now.

The most important thing that I see at Northeastern is that everybody is helpful. Sometimes I don't understand or I can't talk perfectly but everybody is trying to listen and understand me. Also it's hard to stay far away from family, but here I can feel more comfortable because everyone says, "Hello, how are you?", "How's it going?", to each other. That is perfect!
