Rodeo

Coaching Staff

“My first experience with NJC came during the interview process, when the President personally gave me a campus tour. From that moment on, it felt like home. NJC welcomed me with open arms, and that same welcoming spirit continues to support and strengthen the Rodeo Program today.

Our unique, close-knit campus atmosphere creates an ideal environment for students to thrive both athletically and academically. By intentionally limiting the team to a combined total of 20 men and women, each athlete receives the time, attention, and opportunity needed to develop their skills. Our lighter travel schedule also allows students to stay focused and successful in the classroom.

It is truly an honor to share my knowledge and experiences with the next generation of rodeo athletes. Through dedication and hard work, both in and out of the classroom, our athletes achieve the highest GPA of any sports team on campus. As a coach, clinician, competitor, and former collegiate rodeo athlete, I understand the mental focus and physical preparation required to advance to the next level in the out of the arena.

I look forward to working with you and sharing my personal experiences as you pursue your goals both in the classroom and in the arena. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at shelby.winchell@njc.edu."
