New Members of Zeta Theta Chapter

Phi Theta Kappa

The mission of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize academic achievement of college students and to provide opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders.

The Zeta Theta Chapter of PTK was started in May 1947 at Northeastern Junior College.  This chapter has had steady membership since that time. In the Spring 2019 induction ceremony 68 new member joined the chapter.

Each member must meet strict requirements for an invitation to join, once they have joined there are scholarship opportunities that are only available to them. To be eligible for membership a student must have completed at least 12 hours of associate degree course work with a cumulative 3.5 GPA.  All of the universities in Colorado recognize PTK members with a $1000-$2000 per year scholarship, just for being a PTK member!

Members are also involved in the community, both on and off campus.  Members are expected to strive for personal and professional growth.  PTK is an awesome opportunity to meet others who have similar goals and are also high-achieving students, to be recognized for your academic success, and to gain respect from college officials and prospective employers.

What I like best about Northeastern are the very friendly and supportive people that study and work there. As a soccer player, we also have a very bonded team and I really like the combination of competitiveness and help that we offer each other. For students that think about coming to Northeastern you can expect all of these things. Speaking as an international student, you will have an amazing experience here and one you won't regret!

I always found inspiration from my professors at NJC who made me laugh, and encouraged me to be the best I could be.  Eventually I would like to use my skills to become a video game programmer or designer.
