Walker Hall

Administrative building on campus located at 100 College Ave. Use both words in first mention; may be shortened to Walker in subsequent mentions in same piece of content.

web

Lowercase when referring to the World Wide Web. May be used in first and second references (e.g. the web, webmaster, website, webpage).

Williams Hall

Residence hall with double occupancy rooms, and located at 619 Landrum Ln. on the Main Campus. Can hold 135 residents. Use full name on first mention. Can be shorted to Williams in subsequent mentions in the same piece of content. See residence hall.

withdrawal

Dropping a class after the add/drop period is considered a withdrawal. Students who withdraw from a course receive a “W” on their transcript and are not eligible for a tuition refund.

work study

Lowercase when referring to the financial aid program that provides part-time work to financially eligible students. Hyphenate as an adjective (i.e., a work-study student). See financial aid
