Within Community Education various continuing education courses will be offered to provide an opportunity for local industries and community members to access the professional development required for re-certification.

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) course gives healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child, and infant patients. Consistent with AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals, our certification is through the American Red Cross. Through the use of lectures, skills demonstration, practice, and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem-solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to the certificate and training history.
*If you need the certification for employment purposes and your employer requires an American Heart Association (AHA) certificate this course is only American Red Cross -please check your employer's requirements.

The American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers program is designed to train professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over. The technical content within this CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers Handbook is consistent with the most current science and treatment recommendations from the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR), the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care, and the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council (SAC), a panel of nationally recognized experts in fields that include emergency medicine, emergency medical services (EMS), nursing, occupational health, sports medicine, school and public health, aquatics, emergency preparedness and disaster mobilization. NJC offers a variety of workforce and industry training courses through the non-credit continuing education program. The course offerings are updated regularly on the Industry Training portion of the website.
Colorado Electrician Apprentice Course
This course academically prepares the student for the Colorado Electrician Apprentice License Exam. This is a classroom-based course focused on code, grounding, and bonding. There is not a lab component of this course and students are expected to have a basic understanding of electrical work. This course follows IAEI requirements.

Commercial Drivers License Courses
NJC's CDL program will offer a comprehensive course for first time drivers to prepare for the high-demand career of truck driving. Through a combination of classroom instruction and on-the-road training, students will develop the knowledge and skills required for successfully obtaining their CDL. The CDL program will include instruction from highly qualified industry veterans, state-of-the-art technology and hands-on training to prepare students for a successful career in this high-demand industry.

This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
