Why did you choose Northeastern?

I chose NJC because it's affordable and smart. Your classes are big enough to make new friends but small enough to form a relationship with your professor and get that one-on-one help if you are struggling to pass a class or even just excel in it.

What do you like about your area of study?

I love the professors! All of my science professors have such interesting personalities. They can be quirky and odd but they're also the people I have intelligent and insightful conversations with.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I plan to transfer to a four-year program and get my bachelor's in microbiology.

What inspires you?

Close friends and professors. I've taken some hard courses that, at the beginning, I would never have thought I could ever get past. It's awesome how dedicated the professors here are!

What is your favorite memory at Northeastern?

My favorite memory of NJC is probably the end of the year get-together. It's good food and good friends.

I would have never thought I would be playing volleyball on a nationally ranked team.

The most important thing that I see at Northeastern is that everybody is helpful. Sometimes I don't understand or I can't talk perfectly but everybody is trying to listen and understand me. Also it's hard to stay far away from family, but here I can feel more comfortable because everyone says, "Hello, how are you?", "How's it going?", to each other. That is perfect!

It just sounded like it would be a great fit for the path I chose.
