Outreach - Intern

Position Overview:
NJC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the industry of their declared major, to develop professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. The intern will work closely with an employer partner, gaining insights into daily operations and strategic initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day tasks and ongoing projects within the organization
  • Support team members with administrative duties or special assignments
  • Learn and use industry-specific tools and platforms as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Current student, Must be eligible for Work-study
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a positive work culture

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain exposure to industry practices and workflows
  • Develop practical, hands-on skills in a professional environment
  • Build a network of industry contacts and mentors

To qualify for a work-study position, you must first have a completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine your eligibility.  You may apply for multiple work-study positions.  Your submitted application will be sent to the position supervisor(s), and it is up to them to contact you for an interview or for hiring.  After being hired, you will be required to sign a financial aid work-study contract, and complete hire forms through our Human Resources office.

Please note that as a new hire work study student, you are required to bring your two original forms of ID and proof of banking to Human Resources before are eligible to begin working. We are unable to accept copies or pictures of the documents. Accepted documents are your passport by itself or a drivers license/student ID paired with a social security card/birth certificate. Proof of banking can be a void check, direct deposit notice from your bank or bank screenshot showing your name and whole account and routing number.
