Dean and Vay Lousberg Livestock Judging Scholarship

Both Dean and Vay Lousberg came from farming families near the communities of Fleming and Haxtun, Colorado. Dean and his brother Leroy bought the grain elevator in the center of Sterling, Colorado, where it becamse known as Lousberg Grain and Feed, Inc.  Vay taught and substituted in the RE-1 School District for several years. She also worked part-time for Lousberg Grain and Feed. 

This scholarship is designated to support students who are members of the Northeastern Livestock Judging Team.

Recipients are chosen by agreement between Northeastern's Livestock Judging Team Coach and the chairman of the Northeastern Agriculture Department. This scholarship may be renewed for a recipient's sophomore year at the discretion of the college's Livestock Judging Coaches. It is available to in- and out-of state students. Student must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible.
