Armilda W. Dowis Memorial - Save the Site Scholarship

In 2019, Haley Harms, grand-daughter of Armilda Dowis, re-established this scholarship in honor of her grandmother as a means of providing financial assistance to students majoring in STEM programs and/or pursue an associates of science degree.

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a graduate of a high school from Logan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Yuma, Washington or Morgan county. Applicant must have minimum of 3.0 GPA for consideration, and preference is given to an underrepresented group in science majors. Grantees are selected by the NJC Foundation and board members of Save the Site, a Haxtun, Colo. nonprofit organization that provides NE Colorado counties with emergency/disaster response and recovery resources.
