Admission Information

Applying for Admission

Each student desiring admission to Northeastern must present to the Office of Admission the following materials prior to the date stipulated on the college calendar for submission of credentials: a properly completed Application for Admission to Colorado Collegiate Institutions or the application to Northeastern, immunization records or waiver, high school transcript or GED, college transcripts (if attended elsewhere). Students may apply online at https://www.njc.edu/admissions. There is no application fee.

Immunization

Colorado law requires college students born since January 1, 1957, to be immunized against measles, mumps, and rubella. All students, including graduate students, must show proof of immunity if they attend a college or university with on-campus housing.

For all public and non-public post-secondary institutions in Colorado, state law requires that each incoming first-year student residing in student housing or any student who the institution requires to live on campus must submit to Northeastern proof (i.e., a standard certificate indicating immunizations were administered to the student) of immunization, or the student must sign a waiver stating they have reviewed information on meningococcal disease and acknowledge the potential health risks associated with bacterial meningitis or meningococcal disease and have decided to not receive vaccination. If the student is under the age of 18 years, the student’s parent or guardian provides this information.

Official high school transcript

Official high school transcript must show the date of graduation and be signed by the high school principal, college counselor, or superintendent of schools. GED graduates must submit proof of successful GED test completion.

College transcripts

Transfer students must submit current official transcripts of all previously attended colleges. Transfer students must also submit high school transcripts. It is the applicant’s responsibility to request and authorize officials at previously attended high school(s) or college(s) to send transcripts to Northeastern, to determine their math and English skill levels, and submit college ready ACT or SAT, Accuplacer, or GED scores, and to take college placement testing (when applicable) at the Northeastern Testing Center.
