Northeastern finishes 2nd at Central Wyoming College Tournament

With the regular season nearing its end once again the Northeastern Junior College men’s golf team scored a second place finish at the Central Wyoming College Tournament April 21 and 22.

The Plainsmen shot 291 in the first round putting them in first place, but they fell behind the following day with 297 for an overall score of 588, putting them in second place behind Eastern Wyoming College.

For the second week in a row it was a Northeastern player on top of the scoreboard. Matthew Campbell shot 71 in the first round and 69 the following day for a total score of 140 giving him the first place finish, just ahead of Eastern Wyoming’s Brendan Thomas who shot a 143.

Behind him was Trey Kuntz who shot 147 to tie with three others for fifth place. Jackson Rottschafer and Mason Bernard each shot 151 to tie for 11th place, Bodie Hume tied for 13th place with a score of 152, Phil Arnold tied for 24th with a score of 159, Mateo Salcido scored 161 to finish 28th, Alex Tanner shot 166 to come in 33rd and Jacob Dollarhide shot 172 to finish 39th.

Northeastern will close out its regular season at the Eastern Wyoming College Tournament Thursday and Friday.
