NJC Auto and Toy Show announces 2016 date

February 7, 2016

Students involved in the automotive technology and diesel programs at Northeastern Junior College (NJC) have announced that their annual show will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 2-3. They are in the process of recruiting entries to the show.

This year the students will not only continue the model car show in addition to the life-size vehicles, but will once again have an exhibition for die cast cars and equipment. A totally new part of the 2016 Auto Show will be a gravity car show and races.

Anyone who has life size cars of any kind that are of show quality, model cars, die cast cars and equipment or gravity cars, and would like to enter them in the event is encouraged to contact the automotive technology department, Layton Peterman, by phone 970-521-6794 or email:

The students went to great length this past fall semester to build a gravity race course and held a small competition. Students would like to see this activity grow in popularity.

The NJC Diesel Power Club will once again host the one day toy show this same weekend, and it will once again only run on Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. If someone is interested in exhibiting and selling merchandise during this toy show, please contact Jimmy Atencio at 970-521-6692 or email:
