Floyd’s Truck Center to sponsor NJC’s diesel tech program

Students in Northeastern Junior College’s diesel tech program will now be better prepared for jobs in the real world thanks to a new partnership with Freightliner dealership Floyd’s Truck Center, which will now be sponsoring the program.

The announcement was made Friday, when Sid Johnson, general manager of Floyd’s Sidney, Neb., location, and Sarah Quijas, from the Scottsbluff, Neb., location, visited the diesel tech program to talk to students about what the partnership means.

Program Coordinator Jimmy Atencio as been working on the partnership with Floyd’s for about a year now and it’s something he’s very excited about, as it will allow students to have access to all of Freightliner’s training through the Get Ahead program and to keep up with the latest technology in the trucking industry.
