The Northeastern Junior College Foundation received a generous $5,000 donation from Bank of Colorado this week to fund scholarships for second year nursing students, second year agriculture students, and students from surrounding area high schools. Graduating students from the following schools are eligible for the scholarship; Caliche, Fleming, Lone Star, Merino, Peetz, Prairie and Sterling. The intent is to renew this scholarship donation annually to support nursing, agriculture, and local students.

“Bank of Colorado is excited to continue our partnership with Northeastern to provide an opportunity for our local students to be awarded scholarships. We hope this partnership will act as a true helping hand for students to reach their educational goals,” said Jodi DiOrio, Bank
of Colorado Vice President of Branch Operations in Sterling.

“The NJC Foundation appreciates the continued support given by the Bank of Colorado. Their dedication allows students to succeed and realize our community cares about their education. Thank you for your generous gifts of funds and employee time through volunteer hours, we appreciate the community partnership,” said Vivian Hadley, Northeastern Junior College Foundation Executive Director.

The most important thing that I see at Northeastern is that everybody is helpful. Sometimes I don't understand or I can't talk perfectly but everybody is trying to listen and understand me. Also it's hard to stay far away from family, but here I can feel more comfortable because everyone says, "Hello, how are you?", "How's it going?", to each other. That is perfect!

Great things can happen to you when you attend Northeastern. Opportunities are plentiful and you have an advantage over other candidates because of the foundation and ability to quickly learn and adjust as new things.
