Luke Chartier, of Sterling and a freshman at Northeastern Junior College has been recognized as the Diesel Technology Student of the Month. This monthly award is sponsored by NAPA Auto and Truck Parts. Students in the automotive technology, diesel technology and secondary auto tech programs at Northeastern are selected by their instructors and then recognized by NAPA for outstanding performance in the classroom and in the laboratory. The awards rotate through each of the programs every month. Chartier, the son of Greg and Denise Chartier, is working on an associate of applied science degree in diesel technology. Once he completes the two year program, he plans to take his skills into the industry, perhaps working for an oil company or other industrial employer. A graduate of Caliche High School, Luke (shown here on Left) received an engraved plaque and a gift certificate from NAPA’s Aaron Hettinger, who oversees outside sales for the retailer.
