Northeastern's Automotive Technology program is coordinated by Instructor Layton Peterman.  Peterman is the Diesel Discipline Chair for the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). He is also responsible for keeping the Auto and Diesel core curriculum updated to current ASE Education standards. This hard work ensures that all Colorado programs can meet ASE Education curriculum standards.

Aside from his duties as a discipline chair and responsibilities for program development, Peterman is a devoted and colorful professor.  His rapport with the student body is unparalleled and has been acknowledge through the numerous awards he has won.  These honors include, Faculty of the Year and the Joel E-Mack award, the two highest honors the college can bestow.  He has been a 16 year educator at NJC in addition to 23 years working at Ford as a Senior Master with Gold certifications.
