Gates Millennium Scholarship

Deadline: January 11th

Applicants are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American and have attained a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 on an un-weighted 4.0 scale or have earned a GED. Application and other requirements are available at their website.

Arapahoe Credit Union Scholarship

Must be an Arapahoe Credit Union Member in good standing. Minimum 2.0 GPA, accepted by an accredited college or university and complete a 500 word essay. Six traditional $1,000 scholarships are awarded to any high school student, and four non-traditional $1,000 Scholarships.

CESDA Scholarship

Colorado Educational Services and Development Association (CESDA)

Deadline: March 1st

Applicant must be a first generation student, or member of an underrepresented ethnic or racial minority, and/or show financial need, have a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 2.80 on a scale of 4.00, be a resident of the State of Colorado and graduate high school in Spring 2012. Student must enroll at least part time at a 2- or 4-year non-profit Colorado college. Applicant will be selected by, but not limited to, the following criteria: leadership and community service particularly within minority communities, past academic performance, personal and professional accomplishments, personal attributes, special abilities, academic goals, and financial need.

The Kor Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of the Kor Memorial Scholarship is to recognize and encourage scholarship in fields of language study. Familiarity with Klingon or other constructed languages is not required, however creative and innovative applicants are preferred.

CSCPA Scholarships

Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) Scholarships

Deadline: June 1st

$2,500 is awarded twice a year to upper division accounting majors at Colorado colleges and universities with accrediting accounting programs. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Scholarships awarded in July for the fall quarter/semester.

Denver Mensa Education Research Foundation Scholarship

The only eligibility requirements are that applicant be enrolled for the academic year following the award, in a degree program in and accredited American institute of post-secondary education, and be a resident of the area of the participating local group of American Mensa. White Rose Scholarship Foundation

Since its inception, the White Rose Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $166,000 to multiple deserving applicants in pursuits to further their college education. The White Rose Scholarship funds, which are obtained through fundraising efforts as well as private donations, are presented annually to recipients during the White Rose Gala. Annual disbursements have averaged $15,000 over the last 11 years, and are given out in amounts ranging from $500 to $2,500.

For consideration, completed applications must be postmarked by January 15th and/or received no later than January 31st. An independent committee of civic, business, and educational leaders will review all submissions. If you are selected to receive a scholarship, your award will be disbursed directly to the accredited institution of your choice and will be allocated towards the purchase of text books and/or tuition.

Volunteerism & Community Service

Colorado Council Volunteerism & Community Service Scholarship

Deadline: January 30th

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior and must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident of Colorado for his/her final- two years of high school. Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at a Colorado Council member institution within six months of graduating from high school. The applicant must also demonstrate significant experience in volunteerism/ community service and have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. Scholarship amount of $1,250.

National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs Scholarships

There are four different scholarships offered. Requirements range from writing an essay to having a grade point average of 3.0.

Sachs Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: March 1st

Applicants must be a member of the Black/African-American race and must be a full time Colorado resident for a minimum of five years. Applications are only accepted from current high school seniors. Average undergraduate grant is normally $5,000 a year.

CO Mason's Benevolent Fund Assoc.

Deadline: March 15

The scholarships are for up to $7,000 per year, renewable for four years for a total of $28,000 and are awarded primarily for leadership, maturity, need, and scholastic ability without reference to race, creed, color, sex, or Masonic relationship. The only requirements are that an applicant be a graduating senior in a public high school in Colorado and the he or she attend an institution of higher learning within the state of Colorado.

Boulder Valley Credit Union

Applicant must be a Boulder Valley Credit Union member in good standing. Must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and be a Spring 2012 high school graduate. Applicant must have already been accepted at a college or technical school within the United States, and must begin school as a full-time freshman in the Fall of 2012.

Scholarship amounts range from $1,000 - $2,500.

NJC Colorado Garden and Home Show

Douglas County Conservation

Douglas County Conservation District has two $500 scholarships available to qualified applicants. This scholarship is open to any college Freshmen or Sophomore student majoring in the fields of Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Soil Science, Watershed Management, Earth Resources Sciences, and other fields related to the utilization and conservation of soil and water resources. Denver Scholarship Foundation

Deadline: April 1st

DSF offers need-based scholarships to qualifying graduates of Denver Public Schools. The scholarship, which can be as much as $5,000 a year, can be used at 39 postsecondary institutions in Colorado, including technical and community colleges, state colleges and universities, and private institutions. The scholarship is renewable for up to five years depending on the type of college you attend.

National Business Association (NBA)

Those eligible to apply are high school seniors, and college freshmen, sophomore, and juniors who are dependent sons and daughters of NBA dues paying members. Note: The parents of the applicants must still be NBA members at the time the winners are selected in April.

The Helen M.
