Jane Carlson Scholarship

This scholarship is in honor of Jane Carlson, an attorney who believed in the power of education to help women to further their independence and self-esteem; and in honor of the many women clients she served who became self-reliant and achieved their goals through education.
Requirements:
  • Female
  • Single parent
  • Full time student
  • Annual income of $20,000 or lower
Essay:
In no more than 300 words, explain:
  • Your background,
  • How you are the kind of woman Mrs. Carlson would have thought could succeed at your studies at NJC
  • How this education will help you succeed throughout the rest of your life.
Scholarship
  • One recipient.
  • Full-time student
  • $3,000 total (to be allocated in 4 scholarships of $750/semester)
  • In order to continue receiving scholarship, recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Dinsdale Transition Scholarship
This scholarship is specifically for female, nontraditional students (single parent, displaced homemaker, or over 23 years of age) who are in a vocational program of study at NJC. This scholarship is due on March 15th and is for up to 4 semesters of study. Up to four scholarships are awarded annually. For more information contact the Counseling and Advising office.
Daniels Fund Scholarship
The Daniels Fund is a college prep and scholarship program founded by Bill Daniels. His fund has established scholarship awards to serve many different students in Colorado. If you are a non-traditional student and/or you have received your GED and would like to pursue a college degree, or you are getting your EMT certification, you may qualify for the Daniels Fund which will help pay any unmet financial need.
