Awarded to one entering freshman enrolling at Northeastern Junior College. The winner will be selected on the basis of leadership activities and accomplishments in high school and other organizations and cumulative high school grade point average of 2.75 or above.

NJC Auto Tech Club Scholarship

The NJC Auto Tech Club Scholarship is being offered to Colorado high school students planning to enroll in the NJC Automotive Technology program. Scholarship will be awarded $250 for the first year with the stipulation that is divided between fall and spring semesters. Must have 2.5 GPA to receive 2nd disbursement of scholarship. Sophomore applicants will have a freshman GPA of 3.0.

The Armilda Dowis Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to a woman (recipient may be a man, if there are no qualifying women applicants) graduate of Sterling High School for use at Northeastern Junior College in the ensuing academic year.  Special consideration will be given to Licensed Practical Nursing field.

Awarded to a Practical Nursing Student or Associate Degree Nursing Program Student.  Applicants must be employed by Devonshire Acres, as well as a resident of Northeastern Colorado.  Applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Any local high school graduate who enters the NJC Automotive Technology Program. $250 to be split between fall and spring. This scholarship is for freshman year only.

Thomas J. Guthrie Memorial Scholarship

$200 awarded to a graduate of Brush High School attending NJC and studying Agricultural Business. This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholarship and need. The annual award is renewable with an acceptable cumulative GPA.

$300 awards will be made to worthy NJC freshmen planning to major in the areas of practical nursing, auto mechanics, cosmetology or ag-diesel equipment.  Recipients should not be planning to transfer to a four-year college or university.

The NJC Music Department will select one person annually to receive this scholarship.  Recipient must be a fulltime student at NJC who is active in the NJC music program. Recipient must maintain a 2.5 grade point average or higher while at NJC.

LEARN Scholarship

Two scholarships will be awarded each year. The recipient must be of Hispanic/Latino ethnicity, must be from the 5-county service area (Logan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Yuma or Washington). Recipient must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Preference for one of the recipients will be given to an eligible Sterling High School student.

Dean & Vay Lousberg Livestock Judging Scholarship

Recipient selection will be made by mutual agreement between the Livestock Judging Team Coach and the Chairman of the Agriculture Department. Scholarship may be renewed for sophomore year at the Livestock Judging Coaches discretion.  Is available to in and out-of-state students. Recipient must be freshman, must be a member of the Livestock Judging Team and carry a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Colorado Flatlanders Car Club Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1992 for vocational students interested in the field of auto technology. The scholarship goes to an entering freshman student who is planning a career in auto technology and priority is given to a graduate of a northeastern Colorado high school or a nontraditional age student. The award provides two scholarships and is renewable. Applicant must submit a high school transcript, letter or resume stating vocational motivation and specific aspects of financial need. The scholarship is renewable for second year students with a 2.75 cumulative GPA.

Karl Falch Memorial Scholarship

The late Karl Falch, Judge of the Municipal Court of Sterling for many years, through a bequest to the college provides several scholarships to entering minority freshmen each year. Each student so honored receives a scholarship for each term of the first year. It may be renewed for the second year if a minimum 2.00 grade average is maintained. Recipients may be male or female, but must be residents of Colorado. Applicants should state qualification, education plans, and financial need, although documentation of need is not required.

Mary Johnson Linvill College Trust Scholarship

The interest from this trust is awarded yearly to an NJC student based on need. This scholarship is awarded to the recipient by the Financial Aid Director upon recommendations of the NJC Scholarship Committee.

Jack Petteys Memorial Scholarship

The Jack Petteys Memorial Foundation was established in 1944 by Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Petteys in memory of their son, Jack, a pilot killed in World War II. The original purpose of the Foundation was to provide college scholarships for boys graduating from the Brush, Fort Morgan, and Sterling Senior High Schools. In 1950, the Foundation, to express interest and confidence in Northeastern Junior College, offered Morgan County seniors scholarships to Northeastern Junior College. The number of scholarships was increased to nine in 1962. Eleven are now available each year to graduates in eight counties in Northeastern Colorado. Northeastern Junior College scholarships are now awarded to graduates of Sterling, Yuma, Wray, and Brush High Schools as well as a senior from any high school in Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Yuma, Sedgwick, Washington, Lincoln, and Kit Carson Counties.
