Community: Logan County Rotary Scholarship

Award Amount


  • Graduating seniors in RE-1 Valley School District high schools
  • Graduating seniors at Merino High School
  • Graduating seniors at Peetz High School

Please submit the scholarship application and essay to your school counseling office only if the following qualifications are met:

  • Applicant must provide their high school transcript, and possess a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or better, unweighted
  • Applicant must be planning to register and enroll at Northeastern Junior College in the fall of 2020

The following items must be included in the application packet:

  • Completed application sheets
  • 1-2 page typed essay
  • Unofficial transcript of grades
  • Two signed letters of reference
    (teachers, administrators, church or community leaders)
  • Recipients will be invited and required to attend a Sterling Rotary Club meeting in which they will be introduced and asked to deliver a short presentation to the club about themselves and their future aspirations

Rotary is looking for a student to award this scholarship to that has clear potential for success in college and beyond. Ideally this means a student that exhibits strong character traits and is actively involved in their high school/community. Rotary wants to provide a scholarship incentive to someone who has overcome obstacles in their quest for success.
