Java and WebCT

Java 2 Runtime Environment Version 1.4.2_06 to version 5_06 is needed to use many features in WebCT such as the HTML editor, Chat and Whiteboard.  If Java has not been installed or even updated incorrectly on a computer then these programs may not function in WebCT. The Browser Checker in WebCT Vista 4.0, however, works behind the scenes whenever a user logs in. A pop-up window will immediately appear if an issue is detected and the user will follow prompts to resolve the issue. The following information is intended as a resource guide to java.
