Sociology Advising Guide
The sociology program at NJC offers students a broad selection of courses in the social and behavioral sciences including sociology, psychology, and related humanities electives. This program prepares transfer students to pursue degrees in sociology, social work, human services, counseling, psychology, and other areas in the social sciences. A sociology degree prepares students for careers in business, public administration, journalism, public relations, law, education, and counseling. Students are encouraged to gain a strong background in statistics.
