Health, Science & Math
The Health, Science & Math department at NJC offers a variety of courses which will meet your needs and prepare you for successful transfer to a four-year institution, and/or to complete a Certificate or Associate Degree.
Transfer Students
The comprehensive coursework in biology, chemistry and mathematics is offered to meet the entrance requirements for many of the health professions such as physical therapy, nursing, pharmacy, chiropractic, medicine, and veterinary medicine. In addition, those interested in wildlife management, forestry, biotechnology, chemistry, astronomy, geology, physics and engineering will be well prepared to succeed at a four-year institution. Highly qualified faculty advisors will help you choose the appropriate coursework for your specific area of interest. Find out more.
Unique Career Programs
These programs are somewhat unique because of the working relationship that NJC has with other community colleges to share the responsibility of providing the training and internships for those careers. Pre-requisite work is completed at NJC. In some cases the lecture part of the program may be completed on-line and students travel to the clinical sites for the internship. In other programs the student may be required to transfer to another college for at least a semester to complete the program requirements. These unique programs would include: Biotechnology Technician, Radiology Technician, Surgery Technician and Respiratory Care. Find out more.
