We just wanted to write and let the town of Sterling know what wonderful people they have in their community. Our daughter, Shelby Heggie, played volleyball at Northeastern Junior College this year, and everyone has been wonderful there. Shelby had a very bad experience last year when she played at the University of Wyoming - in her hometown - and seemed to have lost all of her self-esteem. After that bad experience, she decided to transfer to your junior college; what a wonderful change that has turned out to be for her.
Coaches Marci Henry and Rob Haley have made all the difference in the world for her; she actually looked like her old self again this year. Her host parents, Ken and Peggy Wright, are wonderful and have made sure that she has been taken care of, also.
We like the way the Journal-Advocate is totally behind all of the athletic events that take place in your town and would like to thank them for giving us loads of articles to put in Shelby's scrapbook so she can remember all the good times she has had while living and going to school in Sterling.
Thank you to all that have made a difference in our daughter's life while she is in your wonderful town going to school.
