NJC Swinehas a 50 year tradition of training outstanding livestock judging teams. We are consistently one of the top teams in the country. The livestock team competes annually at the six national contests consisting of Kansas City, Louisville, Denver, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston, while also competing in several smaller preparatory contests.

We stress the need for outstanding academics in the classroom and excellence in judging. Our team members dedicate themselves to practice or performance, nearly every weekend and for a considerable portion of their semester breaks.

Livestock Judging Scholarships

Scholarships are available for the livestock judging team. Colorado residents are eligable to receive a scholarship reward of 18 credits of free tuition per semester. In addition, there are livestock judging scholarships available to cover rooms, meals and books. We also have scholarship awards for out-of-state students. To be considered for a scholarship, applications are due March 1st. Because of the amount of school that the team misses due to contests, we place a lot of importance on academic ability. Scholarships are awarded based on GPA and ACT scores as well as livestock background. Livestock Judging Scholarship Form
