So you're thinking you'd like to study agri-business? It is a very attractive option for students who 1) already have an ag background, but want or need to move away from the production side of agriculture yet stay in a career area in which they are familiar and comfortable or 2) want to work in agriculture, but have no formal background in it; and 3) may or may not want to pursue a 4 year college degree. This program allows you to gain the knowledge and skills you need to become competent on a wide area of ag-related subjects. It will allow you the knowledge needed to become gainfully employed somewhere in the vast world of agriculture. Jobs are plentiful. People with agri-business knowledge are needed.
There are many career opportunities available in agri-business. These include working in the fertilizer and chemical application industry, livestock and feed industry, farm equipment & supply industry and soil and crop industry in the following areas:
  • Management
  • Manufacturing/Production
  • Product Research and Development
  • Sales and/or Service (Wholesale, Retail, E-Commerce)
  • Office Administration

You can become very employable in two years or less!

Northeastern's Agri-business two-year AAS degree emphasizes the management aspects of business along with the production factors in agriculture. It is designed to provide you with a two-year associates degree enabling you to be more employable in the agri-business industry.
To obtain the Associates of Applied Science in Agri-business Degree, a student must complete a minimum of 60 academic credits including 38 required credits specifically geared to agri-business, 9 credits of general education requirements (English, math, speech, etc.) and 21 elective credits of your choice from a wide range of ag-based topics. You also must complete an internship in an agri-business setting.

An Agri-business One Year Certificate is also available from Northeastern with the completion of 30 approved academic credits along with an internship.
