Northeastern teams up with CCU to offer bachelor's degrees in several areas
Human resources degree also available
In yet another progressive move by Northeastern Junior College, by teaming up with Colorado Christian University, area residents now have the opportunity to earn even more bachelor’s degrees right here at home. This time, students may earn their bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, human resources or project management without ever leaving this part of the state. Several years ago NJC and CCU began a similar close to home elementary teacher education bachelor’s degree program which has been very successful. Offering some business related degrees seemed like a natural next step.
These new three plus one bachelor’s degree programs mean that a student living in northeastern Colorado can complete up to 96 credits, roughly three years of classes, at the Sterling campus, then finish the remainder of the bachelor’s degree requirements through online classes offered by CCU.
This three plus one agreement between NJC and CSU should appeal to a number of students who want to earn their bachelor’s degree. For those students who have already earned an associate’s degree from NJC, they are able to simply return to campus and continue taking classes at NJC to reach the 90 credit mark, then conveniently move on into the CCU online curriculum.
If a student is currently enrolled at NJC working on an associate’s degree, they may declare a desire to earn a CCU bachelor’s degree and their classes will be selected accordingly. These students will go ahead and receive an associate’s degree after two years at NJC, continue to take classes at NJC for yet another year and eventually move into the online CCU classes which can be finished during a fourth year.
Another very appealing side to the CCU bachelor’s degrees in these business areas is that only one math class and only one science class is required.
