In order to qualify for this scholarship you must also:

What's required of you to keep this scholarship?
In order to keep your Hope Scholarship, you must do one of two things.
-
Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in each of your semesters here
or
-
Spend a total of 50 hours per semester in the college’s Comprehensive Learning Center (CLC) on campus and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress in accordance with financial aid eligibility requirements. (Students that are ineligible for financial aid due to no meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress will not be able to receive the Hope/Vision scholarships until they are eligile for financial aid.) The CLC is a tutorial center designed to help you succeed in your classes. If your GPA falls below 3.0 and you do not spend the required time in the CLC, you will lose the scholarship. However, you will have an opportunity to regain it again if you bring your academic performance back up to the 3.0 GPA level or you’ve logged the required hours in the CLC.
One more thing you need to know
Seniors, take note. If you do not qualify for this Hope Scholarship right now because your high school GPA is less than what we require, there’s still Hope for you, literally. You can go ahead and enroll at NJC (we are an open enrollment campus) and work to bring your college grades up to the required GPA and then you will still be eligible for this Hope Scholarship based on whatever your semester of enrollment might be. (ie. If you become eligible after one semester at NJC your freshman year, you would receive the 9 credit scholarship your second semester of that year and then receive the scholarship your sophomore year so long as you remain academically eligible per semester.) At NJC, we measure success one student at a time. We want to help you succeed!
