Premier Farm Credit Scholarship

Four scholarships are awarded each year to students from areas served by Premier Farm Credit (Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma Counties). Applicants must have demonstrated interest and ability in the study of agriculture and must intend to continue the study of agriculture at Northeastern Junior College. One-fourth of the cash amount is made available each semester for fees, books and incidental expenses. Recipients of these scholarships must maintain the scholastic standards set forth by the college. The donor of these scholarships, Premier Farm Credit, together with a committee from Northeastern Junior College, selects the recipients.

Earl Franklin, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

The Earl Franklin, Sr. Memorial Scholarship, established in 1994, to recognize his 60 years in the automotive parts business, is awarded each year to a graduating senior of a local high school who wishes to enter the Northeastern Junior College Automotive Technology program. The recipient is chosen by the Northeastern Junior College Scholarship Committee.

National Western Stock Show and Rodeo Scholarship

The National Western Scholarship Committee sponsors four scholarships for students attending NJC. Applicants must major in agricultural sciences, must have participated in the National Western Stock Show in one of the following ways: showing, judging, volunteer program or sanctioned 4-H/FFA project. Renewable if recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Northeast Colorado Bull Test Scholarship

Gerald and Tom Roth Memorial Scholarship

One award is made each year (nonrenewable). Applicants must be Sterling High School graduates involved in FFA. Selection made by Sterling High School FFA instructors.
Thomas J. Guthrie Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to three graduates of a high school in Logan or Morgan County, Colorado, who show promise in education, journalism, or the humanities. Each Scholarship is financed by earnings from a memorial fund contributed to by the Northeastern Junior College Board of Trustees, the Jack H. Petteys Memorial Foundation, and Sterling citizens and organizations.

Auto/Diesel Tech

Colorado Flatlanders Car Club Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1992 for vocational students interested in the field of auto technology. The scholarship goes to an entering freshman student who is planning a career in auto technology and priority is given to a graduate of a northeastern Colorado high school or a nontraditional age student. The scholarship provides two scholarships and is renewable. Applicant must submit a high school transcript, letter or resume stating vocational motivation and specific aspects of financial need. The scholarship is renewable for second year students with a 2.75 cumulative GPA.

Kent Ewing Memorial Diesel Technology Scholarship

Kent Ewing served as instructor/coordinator of the Ag Diesel/Farm Mechanics Program at Northeastern for twenty years before his retirement.  His commitment to educating young people in the field of agricultural business prompted his family to establish this scholarship in his memory.  One scholarship per year in the amount of $500 is awarded to an NJC sophomore majoring in Diesel Technology.

Bruce C. & Sharon L. Perryman NJC Emeritus Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded each year to a resident of Colorado or Wyoming, who is a sophomore and enrolled at NJC in the secondary business-teacher education program with a cumulative GPA of 2.5. Student-athletes, Iraq or Afghanistan war veterans and members of Future Teachers Association will be given preference. The scholarship is for the sophomore year only. The recipient is chosen by Dr. Bruce C. Perryman via recommendations from the Financial Aid Director in conjunction with the NJC scholarship application process.

John F. Kerker Memorial Business Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by the John Kerker Family and is awarded annually to a  sophomore business student. The scholarship will be for $500 based on need, ability to demonstrate leadership skills and scholastic interest. Applicants must include a letter of recommendation and an essay on the topic "Why I Chose the Field of Business." The student must carry a 3.0 GPA. Selection is made by the Business Division and Financial Aid Office.

Medical/Nursing

Armilda W. Dowis Memorial Scholarship

The Armilda W. Dowis Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to a graduate of Sterling High School for use at Northeastern Junior College in the ensuing academic year. Special consideration will be given those applicants entering the Licensed Practical Nursing field, but this is not necessarily a requirement for the award. Further consideration will be given to the applicant's scholastic performance (2.0 on a 4.0 scale is considered minimum performance for the award) and financial need. Applicants are advised, but not required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This scholarship shall be awarded by the Sterling High School Scholarship Committee and the recipient notified and recognized at the Sterling High School Commencement.
Mary Fonte Scholarship

Each year two scholarships are awarded to students who have been accepted in the Practical Nursing Program at Northeastern Junior College, the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Morgan Community College or the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at the University of Northern Colorado. Funds are provided on a matching basis from the Mary M. Fonte Memorial Fund and Devonshire Acres, a senior living center in Sterling. Preference will be given to applicants who are employed by Devonshire Acres, applicants who are seeking an RN degree and applicants who are Northeastern Colorado residents. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. In return for the scholarship, recipients must work at Devonshire Acres for a minimum of one year after licensure. A recipient who does not complete the program or who does not fulfill the one year employment obligation must repay the scholarship in full.

The student must be a resident of Logan, Phillips, or Sedgwick Counties, must show academic promise, and show financial need.
