Art

Through our visual arts program, NJC prepares students to pursue careers in commercial art, graphic design, architecture, interior design, and advertising. Students have an opportunity to showcase their work in the annual NJC Student Art Exhibit and in New Voices, our literary and art publication for students.

Culinary Arts

Presentation plate of food. Announcing NJC’s new Culinary Arts program! Classes for this program will be fall semester 2012. The two-year AAS degree will cover an introduction to culinary arts, knife skills, and a wide variety of cooking skills. Courses include soups, stocks, and consommés, center plate courses with a variety of meats, baking and international cuisine.

Music

NJC offers course work in the study of music theory, music ear training, and private instruction in piano, organ, guitar, and voice. In 2004, Celeste Delgado-Pelton was hired as a full-time assistant professor in the music department. Celeste has been busy recruiting new students for the music program; performance classes (jazz and concert choir) began fall semester 2005. Theatre

At Northeastern Junior College, theatrical performances are produced and presented by the NJC Theatre.Theatre Students in costume. Performers are invited and encouraged to audition for two productions each year. The Theatre has won numerous awards over the years in everything from directing to acting and sound design at the state, regional and international festival levels. You need not be a theatre major to participate in our program.
