DuPont Pioneer Supports the Development of the Precision Ag Operations Program

January 17, 2018, Sterling, CO – Northeastern Junior College (NJC) is pleased to announce that DuPont Pioneer donated $1,500 towards the development of a new precision ag operations program as part of the DuPont sponsorship program.

“Innovation and preparation for future career success is at the heart of the agriculture department at NJC,” said Andy Bartlett, Associate Professor of Soils/Agronomy Agriculture. “The agriculture department is committed to NJC’s mission, to develop excellence in our students by instilling knowledge, advance skills, and providing opportunities to transfer, and enter the workforce successfully.”

With the help of the grant, NJC will be able to purchase a 3-dimensional printer and components to build weather stations and soil moisture sensors.

“It is crucial that students have knowledge of basic electrical working components and the science behind sensor measurement in order to be more equipped in making on the farm decisions for their own and/or their customers operations” said Bartlett.

Pioneer makes contributions to community-based organizations on behalf of the business and employees. Consideration for outreach grants is given to communities where Pioneer sales representatives, DuPont Pioneer employees and customers live and work and that support quality-of-life initiatives to create an improved, sustainable lifestyle for people worldwide.
