Lee Lippstrew

February 1, 2018, Sterling, CO – Lee Lippstrew, Assistant Professor of Music, Instrumental Music and Recording, was recently recognized by his peers for his dedication, hard work and efforts to educate students at Northeastern Junior College (NJC). Lee received the 2018 NJC Star Performer award at the Spring In-service held in January.

Lee has embraced many different ways to use technology within the classroom and is a certified Apple Teacher. This past semester, Lee worked with the creators of the Soundtrap App to transform the Audio Production and Songwriting courses to use cutting edge technology and recording software. Along with being a fun and engaging teacher, Lee is an excellent advisor and is greatly appreciated by his students. Lee also oversees the audio visual technician needs in the Dorothy Corsberg Theater by hiring, training and supervising student work-studies to properly run the sound and lighting system.

Lee received a bachelor’s of science in music from the University of Colorado and was just awarded his master’s degree in music education from the University of Nebraska at Kearny in December 2017.

To be nominated for the Star Performer award the faculty member must be employed with NJC full-time for 1-year and still within their provisional period (first 2 to 3-years of employment at NJC.)
