30 Year Awards

Aug. 23, 2018, Sterling, Colo. – Fifteen members of the Northeastern Junior College faculty and staff were recognized with service awards at the start of the 2018 Fall Semester. Combined, the group represents 190 years of service at Northeastern.

Receiving recognition for 30 years of service was Ronda Bowey, Director of Concurrent Enrollment and Student Success.

The 25-Year Service Award was given to Shelby Nichols, Ph.D., Professor of Chemistry.

The 20-Year Service Award was given to Julie Brower, Director of Nursing Programs.

Awards for 15 years of service went to Cindy Carey, Student Guidance Coordinator; Kevin Stump, Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Physics; and Misti Pierce, Director of Academic Support Services.

Receiving an award for 10 years of service was Nate Kelley, Associate Professor of Sports Medicine and Instructional Designer and Maria Cristina Fernandez, Custodian.

Engraved pins for five years of service in a permanent position went to Kathy Bright, Custodian; Tracy Knox, Physical Plant Director; Alexis Ertle, Administrative Assistant of Nursing; Megan Eurich, Assistant Registrar; Jolene Buss, Health Science Instructor; Adam Kunkel, Director of Admissions; Snow Mekelburg, Administrative Assistant of Transportation and Energy; Jill Yocom, Assistant Manager of Bank of Colorado Event Center; Jimmy Atencio, Coordinator of Diesel Technology; and Kay Hansberry, Payroll Accounting Tech III..
