A rescheduled reception for the Andrew Kelley photography exhibit which has been on display at the Peter Youngers Fine Art Gallery since early September will be held this Thursday, October 3rd from 4 to 5 p.m. at the gallery. The reception was originally planned for Thursday, September 19th, but had to be cancelled due to the flooding. This reception is free and open to the public. The gallery is located inside the E. S. French Building on the main floor, adjacent to the Dorothy Corsberg Theatre.
An outdoor photographer specializing in images of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West, Kelley shares with the viewer how he sees the world; what he finds striking, powerful, evocative, or interesting. In his words, he describes sharing the sense of wonder from a late-afternoon thunderstorm on the shortgrass prairie, a flock of snow geese flying out of the dawn color at Bosque del Apache, or the morning light silhouetting a flock of sandhill cranes at Monte Vista. In short, he says, “This is what moves me about the world, and here’s why.” His work has been featured in magazines around the world. Kelley, who is the brother of Nate Kelley who is the sports medicine program director at Northeastern, is a Colorado native and a longtime resident of Denver, Colorado.
