FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State women’s basketball player Alicia Nichols has proved herself on the court, earning a scholarship for her final season with the Rams. Head Coach Ryun Williams made the announcement Friday.
The Brush, Colo., native played in all 30 games for CSU this past season, and was first off the bench in Mountain West action. Nichols was an instrumental cog in wins over UNLV and Nevada with double figures from the field in each contest.
“We are excited to be able to put Alicia on a full athletics scholarship,” commented Williams. “Alicia is one tough Colorado kid who has definitely earned this. She was a huge part of our team this past season and we are excited for her to have a nice senior season.”
A transfer from Northeastern Junior College, Nichols boasted the second-highest field-goal percentage on the team in her first year with the Rams at .432. She averaged 23.4 minutes, 5.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in 2012-13.
