Sterling, CO - Kyle Pierce, a guard from Haxtun High School, has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his playing career at Northeastern Junior College. Pierce led the Haxtun Bulldogs to a 17-6 record and to the 2A Regionals this past season before falling to the eventual State Champions Denver Christian.
“Kyle actually caught our eye the summer before his junior year,” explains Head Coach Eddie Trenkle, “his height, his length, his athletic ability along with his skill level will allow him to develop into an outstanding player. The speed of the game might be a challenge for him, but I am certain overtime he will adjust quite well.”
Pierce averaged nineteen points, eight rebounds and three assists for the Bulldogs this past year. He was also selected to compete in the All State Games held in Alamosa, Colorado on the campus of Adams State University later this summer.
“We are excited to have Kyle join our team,” added Trenkle. “He comes from an outstanding program over in Haxtun, and I know Coach Tjaden has done a wonderful job developing his talents. He will be a nice addition to our team.”
