The Northeastern Junior College  Rodeo Team picked up the pace this past weekend in Chadron, Nebraska at the rodeo hosted by Chadron State College.  The Plainswomen won the women’s team title with outstanding performances by the 2012 National All Around Cowgirl title holder Hayden Segelke (Snyder), her younger sister Paxton Segelke (Snyder), Hope Delaware (Merino) , and Coralee Spratt (Lysite, WY).  This moved the women’s team to first in the region after two rodeos.  The women are coached by Taya McAdow.

The men’s team won second at Chadron  with outstanding performances by Caleb Weddle (Milenuca, Minnesota , Kelby Bond (Pueblo), Colby Anders (Scottsbluff, NE), David Hinman (Hays Springs, NE) , and Jamie Wolf,  Pierre SD.  The men’s team is coached by Brian Cullen.

NJC cowboys and cowgirls will travel to Sheridan, Wyoming this weekend to continue competing in the Central Rocky Mountain Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association.  NJC has a great opportunity to stay at the top of the region again in 2012-2013 as the rodeo talent on campus this year is as good or better than it has ever been.
