Student not looking for treats, but food for others
The Math, Science and Outdoor Club, Crossroads Christian student organization and the Aggies Club at Northeastern Junior College will be doing their annual Halloween food drive which benefits the Cooperating Ministries of Logan County on Wednesday, October 31st. The student will have an initial meeting that evening at 5 p.m. and groups will receive neighborhood assignments and then they will go from campus to canvas the various areas of town. Students may or may not be in costume.
The students will be knocking on doors and asking for nonperishable food items. They will cover neighborhoods close to campus on foot and beyond as transportation allows.
In past years, the NJC groups have collected as much as 800 pounds of food items for the food bank. This is an especially important food drive in 2012 as the food bank is in dire need of supplies.
Please consider donating items when the college students knock on your door. They are not looking for treats for themselves, but food for others.
