The Extended Studies Department at Northeastern Junior College combines efforts with the wellness center on campus to offer another set of fitness classes which begin the third week in October. These classes, taught by local residents who have a passion for the activity, cost $134.72 and include an eight week membership to the fitness center on campus. Students are able to use the center for the eight weeks they are enrolled in the class, working out as often as they choose. Some of the classes are offered during the lunch hour and others take place at the end of the work day, making it convenient to stop by after a day at work to get a work-out.
Lindsay Lorenzo will teach a body toning class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. beginning Monday, October 15th and running through Wednesday, December 12th.
Connie Henderson will teach her popular yoga class over the noon hour, 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning October 17th and running through December 14th. If the noon hour workout doesn’t fit your schedule, Petie Sabala will also offer yoga, but on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. from October 15th to December 13th.
Mary Harryman will again offer her well-received kickboxing class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning October 16th through December 13th.
Angie Myer will run an Awesome Abs class during the lunch hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon to 1 p.m. October 16th through December 13th.
All of these instructors have taught for several years now and are well-versed in making classes fun and challenging.
