The Northeastern Junior College Athletic Department will be hosting their Annual Cajun Boil on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Bank of Colorado Event Center.  All proceeds will benefit the NJC Athletic Scholarship fundraising efforts of the Plainsman Athletic Group. Tickets are $40 each or a table of 8 can be purchased for $295.

“This annual event is held to help benefit the scholarship fund for our student-athletes,” explains Athletic Director Marci Henry.  “When our coaching staffs meet and start planning this event, we have in mind to provide an opportunity to offer a unique atmosphere and setting for our sponsors and boosters.  We are very fortunate to have such a supportive community to help maintain and reach new heights with our athletic programs.”

The night starts at 5:00 PM with a social hour and a silent auction, followed by an all you can eat crab legs, crawfish, and shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn dinner.  Once dinner is complete a live auction will commence.  A few items that will be auctioned off this year include a Spring Training getaway to Tucson, a Scooter from Horizon Motor Sports, Denver Nuggets and Bronco tickets, and many autographed items from various athletic sports figures.  Also this year we will be serving King Crab and providing live music.

“Since the inception of this fundraiser we have created many great memories while auctioning off a lot of unique items,” said Marci Henry.  “This is a night we look forward to every school year because it allows us to enjoy our friends, meet other members of the community and raise money to help benefit our athletic programs.”

Tickets must be purchased in advance before October 15, 2011.  Be sure to purchase your tickets right away since tickets sold out in two (2) days last year.  Don’t miss one of the best nights of the year.  For more information contact Bryan Shepherd at (970) 521-6641 or by email at Bryan.Shepherd@NJC.edu or stop by the Bank of Colorado Event Center anytime during the afternoons during the week.
