August 24, 2011Sterling CO – On Wednesday August 31, 2011, the Northeastern Junior College Athletic Program will be hosting Dodge City Community College for their inaugural soccer match. Head Coach Jeremiah McNutt’s team reported to campus and have been preparing for their upcoming season for the past three weeks. The match is set to kick off at 3:00 pm at the soccer complex located on Northeastern Junior College North Campus behind the Plainsman Park. Admission to the game is free and open to the public.
Following the soccer game, the Northeastern Junior College Athletic Department will be hosting the “Second Annual Meet the Plainsmen.” This event will be held at the Bank of Colorado Event Center located on the campus of Northeastern Junior College starting at 5:30 PM. There will be no admission cost and plenty of free giveaways, including hamburgers and candy for all in attendance.
“This is an opportunity for our student-athletes to meet our community,” explains Athletic Director Marci Henry. “When our coaches are out recruiting for their respective programs, this is one of the strongest selling points, that we have a community that embraces all of our athletic programs. Without your support our past and future successes would not be possible.”
Doors open at 5:30 PM, free hamburgers and candy will be available for the public. The first home volleyball game will be September 8, 2011 when the Women’s Volleyball team hosts Defending Division II National Qualifiers North Platte Community College at 6:00 PM.
