AES Engineers Scholarships
AES Engineers is pleased to be able renew our scholarship offer for 2010. The applicants are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

Bill Martin Memorial Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship for high school students from Colorado, Wyoming or New Mexico enrolling in a 2 or 4yr college or university for study related to the water environment profession. Applicant must be a high school senior in good standing, who has applied to a college or university.

Tony Campman Memorial Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship for an existing student of a 2 or 4 yr Colorado, Wyoming, or New Mexico university or college or a resident of the above mentioned states who is pursuing study in the water environment profession (e.g., biology, environmental science, engineering with a strong emphasis in wastewater treatment, water pollution control, or environmental protection). The applicant must be officially enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at a college or university for fall 2010.

County Sheriffs of Colorado Scholarship
County Sheriffs of Colorado, through its honorary membership program, awards approximately thirty $500 scholarships of $500 every academic school year. In addition, the CSOC Board of Directors selects one individual from the group of county-selected scholarship recipients to receive an additional $1,000 scholarship from the Battles Scholarship Fund.
This year, each Sheriff’s Office on the even-numbered year list will accept scholarship applications through February 26, 2010, for awards applicable to the 2010/11 academic year. If you are a permanent resident of a county on the even-numbered school year list, please apply by the February 26, 2010, deadline. See F.A. office for application or go to www.csoc.org and click on scholarship.

Logan County CSU Alumni Association
The Logan County Colorado State University Alumni Association has established a scholarship fund to assist students who are planning to attend CSU. This is a $2,000 scholarship that must be used to attend CSU. Application deadline is April 16, 2010. Contact the Financial Aid office for application.
Otero County 4-H Foundation
The Otero County 4-H Foundation Board is pleased to announce the continuance of its $500 Pat Presidents Scholarship to be awarded to an outstanding youth. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize outstanding students who will be freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in college. The student must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student at a Colorado vocation/junior/community college or university and be a Colorado resident.

Colorado Association of Legal Support Staff (CALSS)
The Colorado Association of Legal Support Staff (CALSS) established the Gwendolyn S. Duran Memorial Scholarship in 1999 to support student in need, pursuing a higher education degree. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time student who demonstrates a financial need and enrolls in a legal program, such as secretary, court reporter, legal assistant, paralegal, or pre-law concentration.

National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC)
To support growth in the construction industry, the Metropolitan Denver Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is offering tuition assistance awards in amounts up to $1,000. The award is available to all students attending a school in Colorado who or pursuing a degree in a construction related field.

Jane Carlson Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Jane Carlson, an attorney who believed in the power of education to help women to further their independence and self-esteem; and in honor of the many women clients she served who became self-reliant and achieved their goals through education.

Weld County Livestock Association Scholarship
Offering $500 to graduating seniors and students of any grade level in college.
1. Must be a Weld County resident with an agriculture background.
2. A min. GPA of 2.5

Colorado’s To and Through Scholarship
$600,000 to help students in Colorado get to and through college beginning January 1, 2010
The Colorado To and Through Scholarship is offered to help Colorado students access and complete higher educations. The scholarship will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning January 1, 2010. The first 250 eligible students will receive $2,500 to use toward their 2010-2011 higher education expenses.
Qualifications:

Attend a non-profit, Colorado college full-time for the 2010-11 school year.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.
-
Qualify for the Federal Pell Grant.

Complete the To and Through application, including submitting the Student Aid Report (SAR) to verify the Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
The first 250 qualified applicants will be awarded the scholarship. We will retain a pool of runners-up who will receive the scholarship if any of the original recipients do not fulfill the qualifications.
Final eligibility will be determined by the student’s college or university in partnership with CollegeInvest.
To further assist scholarship recipients, we will promote and provide student support activities through high schools, pre-collegiate organizations, colleges and the Colorado Department of Higher Education.
Students may apply at www.educationcents.org beginning January 1, 2010. Applicants must register for a free Education Cents account, complete the “My Profile” page and provide a copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR).

Griffin Foundation Scholarship
The Griffin Foundation Scholarship has been awarded to 109 students since its origin in 1994 and offers graduates of a junior or community college the opportunity to compete a baccalaureate degree. This scholarship is available only to students from Colorado and Wyoming who have a 3.5 GPA and qualify for instate tuition. Students who have completed or expect to complete their studies at NJC this school year and who wish to continue progress toward a baccalaureate degree are eligible to apply if they intend to enroll at Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado or the University of Wyoming. The value of the scholarship is $5,000 per semester renewable for four semesters provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA.
Applications must be received by March 1, 2010.

Cancer Survivor College Scholarship Program
The Great West Division of the American Cancer Society has established a scholarship program to give young cancer survivors the opportunity to pursue their post-secondary education from an accredited university, community college or vocational technical school.The scholarship program is designed to ease the financial and emotional hardships associated with fighting cancer and to assist young cancer survivors in reaching their academic potential and fulfilling career dreams.
Only complete application packets received no later than February 26, 2010 will be considered.
Due to limited resources, the American Cancer Society may not be able to award scholarships to all cancer survivors that apply. American Cancer Society volunteers and staff will review applications through April, and recipients will be announced in May 2010. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.
Colorado Association of Wheat Growers Scholarship
The Colorado Association of Wheat Growers (CAWG) will award a $1,000 scholarship to a Colorado high school senior. The applicant’s parent, grandparent, or legal guardian must be a current or new member of CAWG OR the applicant must be nominated by a current sponsor of CAWG. Post - 9/11 GI Bill
Are you waiting for your VA Education Benefits? The Department of Veterans Affairs has made funds available for Veteran students who are still awaiting their education benefit claim to be processed. Eligible veterans can receive up to a $3000 advance, which will be recouped from future benefit payments. If you are a student who applied for one of VA's education programs and have not yet received your monthly benefit payment for the Fall 2009 term, you can request a one time advance payment at your local VA Regional Office or through VA's website, www.va.gov
Kaiser Permanente Colorado Diversity Scholarship Program
