The following Red Cross Health and Safety courses are offered through NJC’s Extended Studies program. For a  customized  health and safety course to meet the unique needs of communities and businesses, please contact Tracy Yahn at 970.521-6708 or tracy.yahn@njc.edu

Prices include: downloadable material online, online digital refreshers and 2-year student certification.  The maximum fee per participant for participants taking training for multiple certifications will be $35.

Adult CPR, AED and First Aid - 6 hour course
$48.00+ $27.00 Red Cross fee = $75.00 total
This course is designed for individuals who want or need first and adult CPR training. The course is also for employers seeking OSHA compliance. Recognizing and caring for injuries or sudden illnesses until advanced medical help can take over will be covered in the class. Handling emergency situations, breathing and cardiac emergencies, adult CPR, and basic precautions for preventing disease transmission will be addressed. The first aid certificate and the CPR certificate are valid for two years.

Adult, Child, Infant CPR with First Aid - 6 hour course
$48.00+ $27.00 Red Cross fee = $75.00 total
The course is designed for individuals who are teachers and daycare workers. The course prepares participants to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children under the age of 12. Participants will also learn how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults.  First aid skills for treating a variety of injuries will be addressed. The first aid certificate and the CPR certificate are valid for two years.  THIS COURSE CAN BE OFFERED FOR CREDIT AS HWE 103 Community First Aid and CPR for 1 credit

CPR for the Professional Rescuer - 6 hour course
$48.00+ $27.00 Red Cross fee = $75.00 total
The course is designed for public safety personnel, lifeguards, EMS, police and fire fighters and health care professionals. The course will cover two-rescuer CPR, use of resuscitation mask and bag-valve-mask which is airway equipment carried by EMS and Fire Personnel. The CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification is valid for two years. THIS COURSE CAN BE OFFERED FOR CREDIT AS HPR 102 CPR FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER for .5 credit

Standard First Aid - 3 hour course
$26.00 + $19.00 Red Cross fee = $45.00 total
First aid skills for treating a variety of injuries will be addressed. The first aid certificate is valid for two years.

CPR for the Professional Review - 3 hour course
$26.00 + $19.00 Red Cross fee = $45.00 total
A review designed for public safety personnel, lifeguards, EMS, police and fire fighters and health care professionals. The CPR for the Professional Rescuer-Review certification is valid for two years.
