A. The Comprehensive Learning Center or CLC provides academic and personal support services to the students of NJC. Our professional staff and learning assistants provide a friendly and support environment to help students achieve their best academic performance.

A. We offer many services tailored to each individual student's needs. Please stop in to visit with our professional staff to see how we can assist you.
Q. What subjects can I get help with?
A. From Animal Science to Chemistry to Speech - our Instructional Specialists and Student Learning Assistants provide tutoring for virtually all courses offered on the NJC campus.
Q. How do I make an appointment?
A. There are several ways:
A. Tutoring and study group sessions are provided at no cost to NJC students.
Q. When should I come to the CLC for help?
A. You are welcome to make permanent appointments with our staff, drop-in for assistance, or just come to Center to study at any time.
Q. Can students work in the CLC?
A. Absolutely! We hire around 10 - 12 students as Learning Assistants annually. General requirements are that students be enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 credit hours of classes. Learning Assistants must maintain an academic grade point average of 3.0 per semester and/or cumulative. Applicants complete a 16 hour training program to become certified as a tutor by the College Reading and Learning Association.
We do consider freshman students for Learning Assistants - please contact the CLC at (970)521-6670 or come to our office in Knowles office 130 for assistance with your application.
