Northeastern student welding. While Northeastern has offered a variety of welding classes over the years, it embarks upon a new welding degree/certification program. Various degree/certificate level classes are still in the development stage and await approval by the Colorado Community College System. These classes offered here have received approval and will apply to the academic degree/certificate on credentials.

Required on first day of class:

  • ANSI approved safety glasses (clear) – 2 pair
  • Welding hood with minimum shade 10 lens or Automatic Welding Hood
  • Welding gloves- long cuffed “gauntlet” style, leather, no holes
  • Medium or High top, leather or fire resistant, steel toed safety boots
  • Work gloves
  • Chipping hammer
  • Wire brush
  • Ear plugs
  • 25 ft. tape measure
  • Cotton (or other fire resistant) jeans

Not required, but you might want to purchase

  • Welders gear bag
  • Welding jacket or cape/apron- leather or other fire resistant approved material
  • Soap stone holder/pen (round or rectangular)- optional
  • Welders cap- optional but recommended

You can purchase these supplies through most welding equipment and supply shops. Matheson Gas and Buckeye Welding Supply in Sterling, CO will give you a discount if you are a NJC Welding student
