Graduation Information

Spring 2007 GED Graduation
May 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.

Friends and family gathered on May 13th, nearly filling Dorothy Corsberg Theatre to celebrate nearly 30 students earning their General Equivalency Diplomas.  In 2007, 64 Northeast Colorado students earned their GED, including students from Julesburg, Wray, Yuma, and Holyoke.  (photo – graduates)

Dr. Lance BoltonDr. Lance Bolton, President of Northeastern Junior College, was the keynote speaker.  He congratulated the students on their achievements and reinforced that earning their GED was just the beginning of positive accomplishments in their lives.

 

 

 

 

Cindy Carey, Counselor at Northeastern Junior College, offered students a glimpse of the multitude of educational and training opportunities at NJC.

NAEHSSpecial Awards
Many students earned various honors during the ceremony.  Founded in 1991 by an adult education director to recognize the sacrifices and efforts of adult students in GED classes, the National Adult Education Honor Society recognizes only non-traditional learners. Criteria for selection include: attendance, cooperation, self-reliance and dedication to achieving academic goals. This semester, 18 new members were inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society.  New inductees included current graduates and continuing students.

Top 10%The honor roll of the GED program consists of students who score in the Top 10% nationally on any one of the five tests. This year, 15 Northeast Colorado students who tested in the NJC/GED testing center achieved this accomplishment.
